Fact-Check Policy

Last Updated: May 2026

At TOIX (toix.net), we recognize that entertainment news is often driven by rumors and fast-breaking developments. However, our commitment to truth remains non-negotiable. Our Fact-Check Policy ensures that every piece of content—from box office figures to casting reports—undergoes a rigorous verification process before it reaches you.

Accuracy is the cornerstone of our credibility. We would rather be second to a story and correct, than first and wrong.

The TOIX Verification Process

Our editorial team follows a systematic multi-step process to verify information:

  1. Source Verification: We prioritize official statements from studios, streaming networks, PR representatives, and talent agencies. When official sources are unavailable, we evaluate the credibility and track record of secondary sources.
  2. Cross-Referencing: No major claim is published based on a single source. We cross-reference information with other reputable industry publications and public data (such as trade journals and industry databases).
  3. Corroboration: For rumors or leaks, we seek corroboration from at least two independent, reliable sources before reporting them as a “credible report.”
  4. Contextual Review: We ensure that the information is presented in its proper context. We avoid taking quotes out of context or using misleading headlines that distort the original meaning of an event.

Rumors vs. Confirmed Facts

We believe our readers have a right to know the status of any piece of news. To maintain transparency, we use clear labels:

  • Confirmed: Information supported by official press releases, studio statements, or direct evidence.
  • Reported: Information cited from reliable third-party trade publications or verified industry insiders.
  • Rumor/Speculation: Unconfirmed claims circulating within the fandom or industry. We use these labels explicitly in the headline and the body of the article.

Handling AI and Deepfakes

In an era of advanced technology, TOIX has a strict policy regarding AI-generated content. We do not publish AI-generated images or videos that depict celebrities or real events as “real” or “actual footage.” Any AI-assisted imagery used for artistic storytelling purposes will be clearly disclosed to our readers.

Transparency in Reporting

If a source refuses to go on the record or asks for anonymity, our editors must know the identity of the source and the reason for the request for confidentiality. We only protect source identities when it is necessary for their professional safety and when the information is of significant public interest.

Correction and Accountability

If we find that a published fact is incorrect, we act immediately. We do not hide errors. Our process for accountability includes:

  • Updating the article to reflect the accurate information as soon as we are made aware of the error.
  • Adding a clear “Correction” notice that highlights the error and the accurate information.
  • Transparently noting the date and time of the correction.

Request a Correction

Do you believe we have published an error? We want to hear from you. Our readers are our first line of defense against misinformation. If you have evidence that our reporting is inaccurate, please contact our fact-checking desk directly:

Email: tips@toix.net

Please include “Correction Needed” in the subject line, along with a link to the article and the evidence supporting your request.
